The Autonomous Business Standard (ABS) is an emerging open standards project for defining vendor-neutral business capabilities and canonical business semantics. Its normative specification is the Autonomous Business Capability Specification (ABCS).

ABS is the open standards project. ABCS is the normative specification. Autonomous Business Reference is a separate, non-normative implementation that shows adopters how the model can work in practice.

Reference Implementation
A deliberately small implementation with a playground and optional HTTP binding. It demonstrates ABCS but does not define it.
Core model
Capability is the universal primitive
Procurement, Finance, Sales, HR and every other ABCS area use the same primitive: a canonical business Capability. Domains classify business meaning; they do not create different capability types.
Canonical capability
Stable identifiers such as procurement.purchase-order.submit describe the business action without naming the software that performs it.
Canonical Business Objects
Purchase Orders, Payments, Customers and other business objects have application-neutral fields, business keys, relationships and state.
Implementation independence
The same capability can be implemented by enterprise applications, custom software, humans, workflows, autonomous agents or future technology without changing its ABCS meaning.
Hard boundary
Business meaning, not technology
Would this capability still make business sense if humans performed the work manually and all implementation technology disappeared?
If the answer is no, it does not belong in ABCS. Integration technology, automation engines, schedulers, middleware, transports, authentication, databases and vendor APIs remain implementation concerns.

Procurement is the Draft 0.2 reference domain. Finance, Sales, Human Resources, Service, Logistics, Manufacturing and Projects are modeled with canonical Business Objects, schemas, state, relationships and representative capabilities.

ABCS defines transport-neutral business semantics for discovering, describing and invoking canonical capabilities. HTTP is an optional binding, not the standard itself.

Emerging, open and implementation-neutral
ABS is intentionally aspirational in name but precise about maturity. It is an emerging open standard created and stewarded by Sirvisetti. ABCS Draft 0.2 is not represented as an established industry standard, a standards-body-approved standard or a widely adopted standard.
